24 Heures du Mans 2008

2008 marked a sterner challenge than Audi had ever faced at La Sarthe with the Peugeot 908s having a pace advantage of several seconds per lap. However during the race this gulf in performance was nullified by changeable weather conditions and spectacular performances from the #2 Audi’s trio of drivers – Dindo Capello, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish. The final margin of victory, after 24 hours, was less than one lap.

24 Heures du Mans 2007

2007 saw the 75th running of the historic 24 Heures du Mans. The LMP1 class saw the first competition between the new diesel engined Peugeot 908 prototype and the diesel Audi R10 TDI, the 2006 Le Mans winner. Peugeot got the better of Audi in qualifying with the #8 908 taking pole from the #2 R10, however it was the #1 Audi that took the spoils in the race winning by 10 laps from the #7 Peugeot.

Le Mans Series Donington 1000km

The 1000km of Donington was the fourth race of the 2006 Le Mans Series season and was run on August 27th of that year. Pescarolo Sport won by a two lap margin from the pair of Creation Autosportif cars.

32nd Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach

The 2006 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach was the first round of the 2006 Champ Car season, held on April 9, 2006 on the streets of Long Beach, California. Sebastien Bourdais won the race by 14 seconds from Justin Wilson, after taking pole from the Briton by a comfortable four tenths of a second. It was Jimmy Vasser’s final Champ Car event, ending a 15 year career that featured 10 wins and the series championship in 1996.
