Jordan 191 & Ferrari 643

1991 Grand Prix cars. Created from scratch to completion in two weeks as a showcase for a client.

The Jordan 191 was the first Formula One car built by Jordan Grand Prix and went down in history for giving Michael Schumacher his Formula One debut. Considered by many to be the most beautiful Grand Prix machine ever it was powered by a 3.5L Ford Cosworth HB4 engine and propelled the team to fifth place in the constructors’ championship.

The Ferrari 643 was introduced at the French Grand Prix of 1991, replacing the 642 which was an updated version of the 1990 car. Although it ran well in its first race the car was famously likened to a truck by Alain Prost, who quickly fell out of favour with the Scuderia after stating “a truck would be easier to drive than this car”.
